Have an Eggscellent Easter!
There’s a lot to do in London over the Easter weekend. With two extra days off work, chocolate consumption on the rise and maybe a little sunshine (or possibly snow, who knows?), there's plenty of Easter activities to keep you entertained this bank holiday weekend. Here's our top 4 things to do for Easter 2018!
Treat yourself to a trip to London's famous West End! There's something here to suit all tastes, from toddlers to teenagers to something a little more grown up.
Matilda is a real crowd pleaser with excellent choreography and ear-worm songs. You can nab cheaper tickets for 16 - 25 year olds on the day of performance -- simply pop by the Cambridge Theatre Box Office before 10am for the best chance of a ticket.
How do you like your eggs in the morning? Forget about the chocolate, let's talk breakfast hotspots.
Dishoom's bacon naan roll is a cult classic for breakfast fanatics; the Bombay style cafe is a favourite among locals and it's easy to see why! Its delicately spiced dishes and delicious chai will perk you up for the busy day ahead.
Escape to Levant at Arabica Bar & Kitchen, found in Borough, for Middle Eastern inspired cuisine in a cosy setting. they serve delicious spiced flatbreads alongside sausages and eggs, but for a real change of scene we suggest opting for the Ful Medamas, a bean stew with falafel, finished with a fragrant cup of Turkish coffee.
If you're still hankering for something sweet, Rabot 1745 by London Bridge is the place for you. This unique restaurant, cafe and store is completely dedicated to the humble cocoa bean, and inspires its menu from breakfast to dinner. You can eat delicious pancakes stuffed with chocolate chips, or go for the more adventurous option of poached eggs served with a chilli chocolate hollandaise sauce. The best of both worlds!
Looking for a traditional pub roast? Look no further than Hawksmoor, Seven Dials, a fruit warehouse converted into a high-end restaurant and cocktail bar. Their express menu is an absolute steal, offering two courses for £25 or three for £28, and on Sundays they do a smashing roast dinner for a mere £20!
OXBO Bankside's bottomless Sunday roast is a never-ending array of help-yourself starters and desserts, alongside a table service delicious traditional English roast dinner. The roasted meats change weekly, but we particularly recommend the beef sirloin. For £40.00 per person, you get three courses and even unlimited Prosecco - what a way to celebrate!
East Egg Hunts
Looking for something a bit more festive to pass the time? Head to one of London's many Easter trails this weekend and hunt down some delicious chocolate eggs in some pretty spectacular locations. Hampton Court is hosting a Lindt Gold Bunny hunt in the grounds of Henry VIII's old home, with tiny but delicious golden chocolate rabbits hidden in the gardens. Not only is there the hunt, but you can also take part in a hot chocolate making workshop, and paint ceramics; choc-a-block with activities!
Cadbury is also taking over multiple National Trust properties all over London to create the ultimate day out for families and chocoholics alike. Join in the fun and hunt the National Trust's huge grounds and gardens for hidden treats and clues. No one will leave empty handed, as once you've completed their trails you'll receive a special Cadbury treat.
