Interesting facts about Harrods:

- On an average day, approximately 100,000 people come to shop at Harrods. On peak days, especially during the Christmas season, this number can jump up to 300,000.
- A cobra was once used to guard a pair of sandals worth £62,000 due to the diamonds and sapphires embedded in them.
- Author A.A. Milne bought a teddy bear there for his son Christopher Robin, a bear that became famous as Winnie the Pooh!
Founded in 1875, London’s iconic Liberty department store is located on Great Marlborough Street in London’s West End. It sells luxury goods including women's, men's and children's clothing and accessories, home wares, furniture and more. It is most most famous for its “Liberty print” fabrics, which are available in to be purchased in a variety of forms.
And the store’s building is as luxurious and impressive as the items it sells! While inside, visitors will be impressed by the wooden balconies and interconnecting jumble of timber rooms.
London’s first ever department store! Selfridges on the world-famous Oxford Street is consistently named as the best in the world and is frequented by London’s rich and famous residents, and elite visitors worldwide. The store's many concessions include designer clothing and accessories for men, women, and children, homeware, beauty products, toys and gifts, electronics, jewellery, and a luxury food hall. The latter is famous for selling the world’s most expensive sandwich: Wagyu beef and foie gras on sourdough bread, for the low, low price of £85.

Harry Gordon Selfridge, who rivaled Harrods in the early 20th century, once made a bet with the Harrods managing director over which store would made a greater profit in 1917. When Harrods won, Selfridge had a silver replica of the store commissioned, which is still on display on lower ground floor today.
Fortnum & Mason
A favourite of the Royals, Fortnum & Mason is known internationally for their delightful food department, which sells luxury teas and hampers costing up to £25,000 (although you could treat yourself to a smaller one at an absolute steal of £25....) The company was founded in 1707, currently based at Piccadilly but now has outlets worldwide. Visitors can also dine at one of the several restaurants, including their famous afternoon tea, visit the barber for a traditional wet shave, or get your eyebrows threaded -- make a whole day of it!
