The Best Trips out of London!
Visiting London but hoping to get a taste of life outside of the city? Read on for our recommendations for the best day trips or weekend stays from London!
A little over an hour from London by train is Brighton – a bustling, Bohemian and zany town that is most definitely worth. Stoll through the Lanes for a spot of shopping in the independent boutique stores, buy a bag of fish and chips, park yourself on the pebble beach and people watch. Use up all your shrapnel in the pier arcade (a personal favourite is the penny falls), and watch the sun set beyond the skeletal remains of the old pier. A perfect day out.

Experience the historical university town and enjoy its stunning architecture such as King’s College Chapel, the Corpus Clock, and the one of a kind Mathematical Bridge. If you’re feeling daring, rent a punt and take a slow self-guided tour down the River Cam – but please do try not to fall in, it is very easy to do (speaking from personal experience).
If you’d like a view from above, climb St Mary’s Church tower for a vista over the town. For food, pop into Aromi – a wonderful Italian café and delicatessen – or the home of the famous Chelsea bun at Fitzbillie’s. Or if you’d like something more gut-busting, try and find Butch Annie’s burger joint, a small bar underground serving delicious buns and fries.

Stonehenge is always on the top of a Great British bucket list, and rightly so – it’s an absolute mystery. Although if slogging across the country in a guided tourist bus isn’t your idea of a grand day out, why not make a trip of it?
Just 8 miles on from the enigmatic stones is the medieval city of Salisbury – a haven for historians and history lovers alike. Visit the cathedral, home to Britain’s tallest spire, and view one of the four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta.

Hankering for a pampering? Plan an excursion to the Roman city of Bath. The Roman Baths are remarkably well-preserved, and you can book yourself into a spa session (or a whole day, we won’t judge) in the natural thermal waters.
For all you literature lovers, remember one of Bath’s most famous resident, Jane Austen, by “taking in the air” in Sydney Gardens, eating a Sally Lunn’s bunn, and of course visiting the Jane Austen Centre.
Cafe culture is rife in Bath, so be sure to find yourself some time for some afternoon tea. Sales team member Hannah particularly recommends buying fudge whilst in town -- she says it is not to be missed!

Feeling adventurous? Thanks to the Eurostar, you can eat breakfast in London, and lunch in Paris! Book a seat and alight at Charles de Gaulle in the heart of the city of love. Paris is the ideal day trip destination. Enjoy a trip up the Eiffel Tower, or a panoramic view of the city from the top of the Arc de Triomphe, and finish the day with a dinner in the Latin Quarter. Just remember to catch your train back to London!
