10 Really Great Local Pubs in Fulham

09 May 18

Ask any Fulham resident what they enjoy most about living in this leafy corner of London and the word ‘gastropub’ will probably come up sooner rather than later. Nestled in a bend of the River Thames, you can expect to find some of the best riverside watering holes in the capital here, while the area’s picturesque terraces and gorgeous green spaces lend it an elegant, family-friendly vibe. From al frescodining to darts and craft beer, these are the best local pubs in Fulham.

The Kings Arms

Plush, townhouse décor and a great ale selection await at The Kings Arms, found on the Fulham side of Putney Bridge, where sport fans in particular will enjoy the live matches shown in the bar or outside in the fantastic pub garden.

The Rose Pub

A little oasis just off the New King’s Road, locals like to think of The Rose Pub as their little secret. Whether you bed down for the evening in one of its many leather Chesterfields or set up shop in its pretty walled garden, you’ll want to clear your schedule to soak up its chilled-out atmosphere—not to mention a cocktail or two.

The Wellington Fulham

Although widely considered to be the home of the best Sunday roasts in London, with a choice of 22 beer lines, from the classics to new local brews, The Wellington has stuck to its roots as a friendly, neighbourhood drinking hole, perfect for a relaxed game of darts or a long lunch with friends.

Duke on the Green

Located in the charming neighbourhood of Parsons Green, the recently refurbished Duke on the Green is providing real competition for its more famous neighbour, The White Horse, with stunning original features and a great selection of craft beers.

The Crabtree

Offering some of the most stunning riverside drinking in London, the Crabtree’s Orchard Beer Garden is where you’ll seemingly find everyone in the summer months, giving this gastropub its reputation as the area’s ‘place to be seen’.

The Malt House

For some of the best laid-back pub grub to go with your craft beer, look no further than the award-winning Malt House, set in a cobbled square just a short walk from Fulham Broadway station. We can’t recommend the triple cooked chips enough.

The Mitre SW6

Located in the heart of residential Fulham, the Mitre is the perfect boozer to visit for a catch up with friends over a glass of wine, or to gather the troops to watch the latest rugby match. In the summer, there’s even an outside bar and barbeque to be found in the recently refurbished garden.

The Harwood Arms

Famous for being the first (and only) pub in London to receive a coveted Michelin star, The Harwood Arms is a Fulham destination pub that occupies a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike. Although it’s more akin to a restaurant, it warrants a mention here for its superb wine list.

The Sands End

For the best scotch egg in town to go with your pint of real ale, look no further than The Sands End, situated in the backstreets of Fulham, near to the River Thames. Its light and airy, chat-at-the-kitchen-table vibe gives this place a real neighbourhood feel—only enhanced by the dogs sitting contentedly at their owners’ feet.

The White Horse

With delightful front seating facing Parsons Green, you might not even make it through the door of The White Horse before deciding it’ll be your home for the day. Often voted one of the city’s best pubs, its widely known for its extensive ale and bottled brew selection.
