A Luxury Guide to Bond Street’s Best Stores

10 May 18

From high-end brands worth their weight in gold-studded handbags, to haute-couture threads coveted by fashion’s trendiest style mavens, Bond Street’s stores take sophisticated spending to dizzy heights. Whether you’re simply enjoying the area’s artfully dressed window displays or playing hard with your platinum card, you’re guaranteed to find your favourite brands lining the well-heeled pavements of Old and New Bond Street. Here are some of its finest flagships.

Alexander McQueen

Flanked by catwalk heavyweight Dolce & Gabbana, the late British designer Alexander McQueen’s flagship store certainly holds its own among the elite of Bond Street’s haute-couture stores. Expect stunning displays of some very stylish collections from this award-winning fashion house, set against a very cool and classy interior.

With a duo of sizeable Union Jacks announcing its entrance, the Burberry store is not shy of its quintessentially British heritage. Beyond the dramatic frontage, it’s all soft-pile carpets, muted interiors and tasteful lighting, where you’ll find a pared-back display of the brand’s current collections. Less crowded than its sibling flagship store in nearby Regent Street, this classy fashion house is certainly worth a visit.

It would be rude not to succumb to the pearly gates of Chanel’s enormous white flagship store, especially as its three floors of fine French fashion make this the largest Chanel in the world. From beauty and fine jewellery to ready-to-wear trends and limited-edition rarities, you’ll find the most coveted brand in couture right here on Bond Street.

French fashion house Chloé has restored the wrought-iron frontage of its Bond Street flagship store to resemble an elegant olde worlde candy store… and what lies within is is deliciously moreish as its exterior might suggest. Expect elegant displays of its most mouth-watering accessories and fashion collections.

Louis Vuitton

Who can ignore the eccentric ‘look at me!’ window displays of the world’s most coveted luggage designer, right opposite Chanel’s stylish emporium? The French fashion house has been producing its leather treasures for 180 years, and the sheer volume of Louis Vuitton delights that line the walls of its Bond Street store doesn’t disappoint.

Asprey’s fine jewellery, elegant watches and classic leather accessories are testament to this centuries-old heritage brand’s expert craftsmanship. Alongside its silver, china and crystal collections, Asprey is famed for creating a chess set for Ringo Starr and its silver and enamel Pagoda Cocktail Shaker is reputed to be the fanciest maker of martinis in the world.

Little flies the flag for quintessential British fashion quite so elegantly as a Mulberry Bayswater—though there’s plenty of delightfully luxurious arm candy to tempt you into the designer’s flagship Bond street store. Not just for lovers of leather, you’ll also find exquisite couture alongside the heavenly bags and shoes within Mulberry’s slick and stylish interior.
