08 Sep 17- Visiting London, Top Picks, Places To Eat
Over the next several weeks, we’ll be talking all things London luxury! This week we’re starting with one thing that brings all of us together… delicious food! Fancy food at that.
If you’re thinking about stepping out of your vacation rental for some fine dining experiences, here are our picks for some of the most luxurious and upmarket restaurants in London to splash out on:
The Ned is part hotel, and part members’ club, with an impressive nine restaurants open to the public. Converted from an old bank, the only possible reaction when first walking through its movie-set like halls is sheer amazement. The plush furniture, polished marble, and extravagant finishes is something from the world of James Bond. Each restaurant has its own gastronomical theme – an English café, an Italian, American grill, and Asian-Pacific fusion to name but a few, so there is indeed something for everyone. This is one of London’s top dining experience, if not for the food but for the wow factor. You can just grab a drink at their bar, which serves classically simple cocktails starting from just £10.00 (a bargain for Soho!). It is safe to say there’s no other dining experience quite like in Ned in London.

Bluebird Chelsea is a destination in its own right. It’s one of Chelsea’s most popular eating and drinking spots, and for good reason!
Located right on the King’s Road in the heart of Chelsea, at this venue you’ll find a modern restaurant, delightful café, a chic bar, and a large outside terrace – a setting for all occasions!
Oh, of course - the food and drink! Well we can assure you that the menu certainly doesn’t take a backseat. The European food looks divine, and tastes even better. You can expect the likes of handmade pasta, fresh lobster and a choice of perfectly cooked steaks. And we guarantee you’ll enjoy making your way through the extensive wine and cocktail lists too! Bluebird is a must-visit.

The Ivy has long been one of London’s famed culinary institutions and celebrity hot-spots, and The Ivy Café in Marylebone is one of the newest venues to join the elite family of restaurants.
The iconic restaurants have been part of London’s social scene since 1917, so we certainly wouldn’t be surprised if you spot a few celebrities during your visit to one of them!
In addition to the restaurants dazzling reputation, the venue has a glamourous Art Deco interior with a relaxed and sophisticated ambience. And the appealing seasonal menus will ensure the restaurant remains on London’s must-visit list for many years to come!
London’s other iconic Ivy’s certainly deserve a mention too. The most popular being the The Ivy Chelsea Garden, located on the King’s Road (one of London’s most upmarket roads), and The Ivy restaurant in West Street, Covent Garden, which is a popular dining spot for enjoying a pre or post-dinner meal before catching a West End theatre show.
If you’re looking for a dining experience that takes your breath away, this restaurant is the pick of the bunch for you! Being located on the 31st floor of the Shard, the view of Londons’ skyline is incredible to say the least and quite frankly, good enough of a reason for us to visit!
The lively, cosmopolitan style restaurant setting is just an added bonus! You can expect professional staff, a great atmosphere and innovative contemporary British cuisine menu. What more could you really want?!

Sketch has now been open in Mayfair for over a decade now, and still remains to be one of the most intriguing and popular dining spots in London!
The overall venue has incredible attention to detail in every aspect. It’s playful, intricate and downright impressive design is enough reason to visit in itself. There are several different areas all with a different theme. Exploring them is just as fun as sampling what they each have to offer. You’ll discover a tea room, a lounge bar and two restaurants. One of the restaurants is French chef, Pierre Gagnaire's two Michelin Starred Lecture Room and Library. This restaurant is incredibly sophisticated, exclusive & luxurious, and features an extensive and award-winning wine list and intricately prepared food to be adored by all who visit.
If you’re looking for somewhere that is both upmarket with a bit of quirky character, Sketch is your place! We haven't even mention that the loos that are egg-shaped pods, in a bathroom with has a colorful spotted roof! Yes - we highly recommend Sketch!
Ps. Dress up to the nines for this one – the crowd are often just as glamourous as the venue, and that's faaaancy!

Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester is one of London’s top restaurants. Located right by Hyde Park, at the luxury hotel The Dorchester, you can discover fine French dining at this Michelin star restaurant. With a wide range of cuisines on the menu, Alain Ducasse offers an à la arte, numerous tasting menus, and a lunch time express menu, fitting all (or at least most!) budgets. The service here is superb, with staff happy to attend to the smallest request, and if you can bag a table looking over the park, then you have truly hit the jackpot. Of course it is one of the most expensive culinary experiences in London, however, when in Marylebone…
