The Best Views in London!

02 Mar 18
The London skyline is one of the most recognisable in the world. It is truly iconic, breathtaking, and quite often shrouded by clouds. Now that spring has almost sprung (current snowy climate aside), it's about time to stretch your legs and take in a bird's eye view of our gorgeous capital in the glorious sunshine.

The Shard
No trip is complete without a visit to The Shard, arguably one of the most iconic structures of the London skyline. Opened in 2013, this is the EU’s tallest building (for now…) at 1016 feet tall, offering a stunning 360 degree vista at twice the height of anywhere else in the city. Visit the observation desk for a view to remember (it's best to book in advance), or reserve a table at one of its many restaurants and bars.

The London Eye
Hop on a pod on the world renowned London Eye for spectacular views of Westminster, St Paul’s, and on an especially clear day even as far as Windsor. At 135 meters high The London Eye is the world’s largest cantilevered observation wheel since its launch in 2000 as the Millennium Wheel, it has become a staple go-to for visitors and locals hoping to glimpse a glorious bird's-eye view of our nation's capital. Each rotation takes 30 minutes, offering you plenty of time to take the perfect snap, and have a moment of quiet over the bustle below.

The O2 Arena
Feeling restless? Climb the walkway along the O2 arena and check out the view from the top! Up at the O2 is a guided ninety-minute expedition - also known as Urban Mountaineering - that takes you up on the roof of the famous landmark. You get to see the glorious London skyline and Canary Wharf and feel a bit like an intrepid explorer! There are many types of climbs available to book, including the original ascent that offers a 360 degree view up to 15 miles away, and the Twilight Expedition; a climb in the dark where you will witness the bright lights of busy night-time London. Kitted out in a special climbing suit, boots and a harness, you'll truly look the part!

Monument
The Monument, found at the junction of Monument Street and Fish Street Hill, is a stone column built to commemorate the Great Fire of London and celebrate the rebuilding of the City in its wake. Ascend the tower and take advantage of its panoramic views across London. It’s £3 to enter, and 311 steps to climb, so not for the faint hearted!
